Little Towns

Little Towns

Inside a structure made of concrete rods, rusty but permeated of their strength and long living, photographic gelatins – painting a framed picture of buildings, statues, places of the most important Italian historical towns – stay, thin and ethereal.
They drive us through our memories, if we visited those places, or bring us to dream them, if we haven’t explored yet.Transparency among statues and building fragments – trapped with invisible threads and slightly floating at smallest breath of air – make us feeling how impermanent the human being is, compared to his works.
The past and his subtle fragrance are precious fragments of our culture, foundations of our civilization.
On the walls, meanwhile, watercolor papers play the game between the pure photographic reality  and its extension, hand-drawn in pencil and colors – output of the human feeling. Like an exciting open-eyed dream, where the invisible limit between sleeping and waking materializes.

Towns are: Venezia, Firenze, Pisa, Roma, Pompei, Milano, Matera.
Project was developed for Anren Biennale, Chengdu, China in 2017
